About PEACE Mexico

PEACE is a nonprofit organization working in the Bay of Banderas, Mexico working to increase educational and economic opportunities through community development programs in the areas of education, environment, and animal health.


ANIMAL HEALTH

The Help the Animals Program (Ayuda a los Animales) responds to the challenge of Mexico’s large population of unwanted and unhealthy pet animals.

Initiatives include the following:

  • Weekly free spay/neuter clinics
  • Community-wide education about the humane treatment of animals

ENVIRONMENT
 
The Community Pride Program (Orgullo en la Comunidad) works hand in hand with town community members to identify and complete beautification projects that encourage long term environmental health.

Initiatives include the following:

  • Community Cleanups
  • Community Garden

EDUCATION

The Community House Program (Casa Comunidad) works with the public school system to provide students with dynamic educational experiences; it also offers educational opportunities to youth and adults not enrolled in formal education.

Initiatives include the following:

  • After-school programs and summer camps
  • In-school workshops in science and dance
  • Continuing education for adults
  • English and computer classes
