Ayuda a los Animales

Help the Animals responds to the challenges of the unwanted pet population in Mexico through aggressive spay/neuter programs, education and adoption.

The mobile spay and neuter clinic and the Ayuda a los Animales (Help the Animals) team holds routine clinics in many towns in the Bahia de Banderas. The mobile clinic allows the team to rotate from town to town on a weekly basis. In 2008 a full-time vet was hired and collaboration began with six other animal organizations. We also established a relationship with the Veterinarian University in Compostela in order to increase the students’ knowledge and skills in regards to spay and neuter. In addition, adoption days are held in order to find homes for abandoned and unwanted animals.

Where we have worked
In 35 towns in the Bahia de Banderas, reaching as far north as San Blas as far south as Puerto Vallarta and as far inland as Tepic.

234,500,000+ unwanted births prevented over the next 7 years
Decreased rate of diseases among animals
Over 200 animals placed in new homes
